Built on Redemption Rye, this (variation) leans into spice and brightness, with black cherry adding just enough fruit to sharpen the contrast.

2 parts Redemption Rye

½ part black cherry syrup

2 dashes Angostura bitters

Combine all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice.
Stir for 30-40 seconds.
Strain over ice into a double old-fashioned glass.
Squeeze the orange peel over glass to express oils and add alongside a cherry to garnish.
